Johana Ng’eno’s mother pleads with Gachagua to build house at late MP’s grave

Johana Ng’eno's mother has implored former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to aid in constructing a house at her late son's gravesite, expressing frustration after previous appeals to various leaders had fallen on deaf ears. During a visit to the Ng’eno residence on August 21, 2026, Gachagua paid his respects to the deceased legislator, whom he regarded as a dear friend. The mother lamented that despite her previous pleas to other leaders, no one had come forward to help her family build the structure.

Gachagua assured the family that he would honor their request, stating, "Ngeno was a great friend of mine. I will honour your request and make sure the house is constructed." He further requested the family to submit a design for the proposed house, so the construction process could commence. Additionally, Gachagua pledged to cover the hospital bills of Ng’eno's brother, who is currently admitted to a healthcare facility.

He said, "I have also learnt that his brother is in hospital. I will take care of the hospital bill and ensure that the family does not continue carrying that burden."

The former Deputy President emphasized that Johana Ng’eno was not merely a leader, but also a close friend, whose passing was a significant loss to his family, friends, and the broader community. Gachagua conveyed his condolences during his visit to the family, emphasizing his commitment to supporting them in any way possible. The family is now anticipated to prepare the design of the graveside house before construction can begin.
