Japanese Delegation Visits UP's Women Power Line 1090 To Study Women Safety Model

Lucknow, August 21 - A Japanese delegation toured Uttar Pradesh's Women Power Line 1090, a dedicated women's safety helpline, as part of the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026. The delegation learned about the mechanisms for women's safety, immediate assistance for complaints, counseling services, and awareness programs. Officials from both Uttar Pradesh and Japan discussed women's safety, awareness at the school level, educating children about safety, and ways to build confidence in women.

The Japanese delegation was keen to understand how a woman's concerns are assessed after seeking help and how appropriate assistance is provided. They observed the functioning of Women Power Line 1090, learning about the process from receiving calls, understanding a woman's concerns, providing counseling, and connecting her with relevant support systems.

The delegation learned that it's crucial to listen carefully to women and provide a comfortable and secure environment. They emphasized the importance of counseling and emotional support. Discussions focused on preventive awareness and educating students from an early age about safety, rights, and how to seek help. Both sides acknowledged the unique social and institutional contexts of Japan and Uttar Pradesh, agreeing that exchanging experiences in areas such as women's safety, child awareness, effective communication, counseling, and support services could benefit both.
