Iran president says time to end war while in position of strength

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Friday that it was time to put an end to the ongoing Middle East conflict with the United States, as Tehran found itself in a position of strength against Washington. The war, initiated by the U.S. and Israel in February, has been stuck in a stalemate, with both nations locked in a struggle.

Tehran continues to maintain a partial blockade of the critical Strait of Hormuz, while Washington maintains a naval blockade of Iran. Pezeshkian made his statement during a meeting with medical professionals, emphasizing that the time had come to bring the war to a conclusion because Iran was in a position of power and dignity.

The global community has recognized Iran's victory, with most acknowledging that the United States had attacked Iranian schools, hospitals, and infrastructure, all in violation of international regulations. Iran's foreign ministry had previously accused the U.S. of committing economic terrorism and crimes against humanity following Washington's announcement to increase sanctions against Tehran.

Pezeshkian's comments came in response to these accusations, calling for the perpetrators and instigators of these sanctions to face trial and punishment for their heinous acts.
