Inter-Agency Football Gala: YEA organize event as part of National Youth Month celebration

The National Youth Authority (NYA) hosted an Inter-Agency Football Gala on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium as part of their National Youth Month celebration. This event aimed to foster team spirit, healthy competition, and youth engagement among staff and representatives from various agencies.

In addition to the football games, participants took part in a range of other sports and activities, including football, sack race, table tennis, oware, cards, ludo, scrabble, lime, and spoon. The football competition was particularly intense, with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) emerging victorious over the NYA, 4-2, in a thrilling penalty shootout after a hard-fought match.

NYA Deputy CEO Inusah Mahama explained that the inter-agency football gala was organized as part of National Youth Month activities. He stated that the NYA's responsibility includes organizing the annual youth month celebration, which includes a variety of events and initiatives. The NYA has already hosted a national youth celebration in Kumasi at KNUST, and in the coming days, they will organize the Youth Parliament and the Intergenerational Dialogue. The celebrations will culminate in Independence Square with the National Youth Celebration.

Mahama emphasized that the inter-agency games were just one of the many activities the NYA has planned to promote youth engagement, unity, and active living throughout this year's National Youth Month.
