Imo LP gov aspirant mourns 46 Sokoto boat accident victims

Former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal has expressed deep sorrow over a boat accident in Gorau community, Goronyo Local Government Area of the state. In a post on his verified X account on Thursday, the governor conveyed his profound sadness at the incident which led to the deaths of 41 individuals. The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) reported that 11 people had been rescued thus far.

Senator for Sokoto South lauded the rescuers and emergency response teams for their tireless efforts to save lives and offer assistance to the victims. He called for an urgent investigation into the incident's circumstances and urged authorities to strengthen safety measures along the nation's waterways to avert future tragedies.

Governor Tambuwal expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and the people of Gorau community and Goronyo Local Government Area, mourning the loss of so many lives in one incident. He prayed for the deceased, their families, and all those affected, asking Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings, grant them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdausi, and provide the strength and resilience to endure this irreparable loss.
