The Reserve Bank of India has announced the underwriting auction for the issuance of government securities amounting to ₹28,000 crore, set to take place on August 21, 2026. In accordance with the existing scheme of underwriting commitments, notified on November 14, 2007, Primary Dealers (PDs) are required to meet a Minimum Underwriting Commitment (MUC) and a minimum bidding commitment under the Additional Competitive Underwriting (ACU) auction.

For each security, the MUC and minimum bidding commitment per PD are as follows: 7.06% Government Securities 2021 is ₹17,000 crore with a minimum bid of ₹405 crore, while 7.43% Government Securities 2076 requires a MUC of ₹11,000 crore and a minimum bid of ₹262 crore. The underwriting auction will be conducted through a multiple price-based method, and PDs have the opportunity to submit their bids electronically via the Reserve Bank of India's Core Banking Solution (e-Kuber system) between 09:00 AM and 09:30 AM on the day of the auction.

The underwriting commission will be credited to the PDs' current accounts with the RBI on the day the securities are issued.
