Gachagua visits home of late Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua paid respects to late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johanna Ng'eno by visiting her family home, accompanied by political allies, on Friday, August 21, 2026. At the Mogondo residence, Gachagua was greeted by Ng'eno's mother, who held his hand as they proceeded to the grave site. Gachagua removed his cap and paid his respects by bowing and laying a wreath on the late MP's grave, whom he referred to as a long-time friend.

Ng'eno's mother joined Gachagua in placing a wreath on her son's grave. This visit came after Gachagua had spoken to Ng'eno's mother on the phone, assuring her he would explain the circumstances surrounding her son's death during an upcoming face-to-face meeting. It is important to note that Gachagua's visit to Emurua Dikirr, a constituency traditionally associated with President William Ruto, came despite threats to prevent him from accessing the area.

Gachagua's presence in the constituency is seen as a sign of his growing political influence in the Kipsigis community.
