Former Washington Football Star DL Signs With Buffalo Bills

Former Washington Huskies defensive lineman Greg Gaines has inked a deal with the Buffalo Bills, reuniting with his college teammate Dante Pettis. Gaines, a fourth-round selection by the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, spent the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording 49 appearances, and maintaining at least one sack and two quarterback hits each year since his second season in the NFL.

The #Bills have acquired Gaines, with sources confirming the move to @CBSSports. Gaines has already signed former UW teammate Pettis, who made five appearances for the Bills during the preseason. Both join ex-Husky tight end Keleki Latu, who signed as an undrafted free agent and played in five games last season. Gaines, a 2018 Morris Trophy winner, is expected to provide the Bills with much-needed depth under new head coach Joe Brady, bolstering the defense alongside Ed Oliver, Deone Walker, and others ahead of the 2026 season.
