Montreal artist Ruby McKinnon, known as Flower Face, released a new song titled "Bad Dream" on the heels of her 2024 album "Girl Prometheus". The track is characterized by its dreamy and hazy sounds, earning her a spot in Stereogum's list of Artists To Watch. "Bad Dream" bears a resemblance to a Mazzy Star song tailor-made for the Drive soundtrack.
According to McKinnon, the song's lyrics delve into the complex dynamics of an internal argument, questioning the nature of reality and the illusion of free will. She directs the music video for "Bad Dream" herself, which can be viewed in the link provided. The single seems to be a standalone release, but its haunting melody suggests that more music is on the horizon.
As the week's most significant music news and least important memes, "Bad Dream" represents McKinnon's latest contribution to the world of dreamy, atmospheric music.
