Felda task force to examine current management, not just past problems, says Anwar

Bangi, August 21 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim disclosed that he would await the full report from the Special Task Force probing the management of the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) prior to any official statements. He highlighted that the task force had commenced its examination and the findings were anticipated to be unveiled soon.

"The task force has commenced, and I am awaiting its completion before making any announcement," he stated. The investigation would delve into various aspects, including management improvements and identification of current issues, rather than solely focusing on past problems, he emphasized. Anwar made these remarks following a meeting with Felda's top management and executives at the Tenera Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, alongside Felda chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir and General Director Datuk Dr Suzana Idayu Wati Osman.

Earlier reports indicated that the Special Task Force report on FELDA was expected to be finalized within a few months and subsequently made public. Anwar urged the public to scrutinize the report in a manner akin to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the Tabung Haji (TH) Board, as announced by Bernama.
