DP World's Glen Hilton to be appointed as MMC Port's CEO: Sources [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: MMC Port Holdings Bhd has appointed DP World's CEO and managing director for Asia Pacific, Glen Hilton, as its new group CEO after Datuk Azman Shah Mohd Yusof stepped down in July. Hilton, a seasoned executive in the logistics and port industry, will take over the role in October after resigning from his position at DP World two weeks ago.

He joins MMC Port alongside Sultan Ahmed Sulayem, who became the executive chairman of the port group. The appointment of these top executives from DP World is aimed at growing MMC Port's business, modeled after DP World's operations. Despite the appointment of Hilton and Sultan Ahmed, there is no indication that DP World is taking a substantial stake in MMC Port.

The news of Hilton's appointment comes amid speculation that MMC Port may have scrapped its plan to list the port group on Bursa Malaysia's Main Market due to concerns over its valuation. Hilton has over thirty years of experience in logistics and port operations, having previously served as the CEO of Malaysia's largest container terminal, the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, from March 2013 to February 2016.
