Delhi Police Refuses FIR Over Student’s Pellet Gun Injury; Rahul Gandhi Sits On Dharna At DCP Office | VIDEO

Delhi Police has allegedly withheld registering an FIR concerning the pellet gun injuries sustained by student Sahil Lochab during the July 20 "Sansad Chalo" protest. Congress claims Lochab submitted a written complaint on August 14 but was denied an investigating officer (I/O) number despite ongoing follow-ups. Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition, joined Lochab in a dharna at the DCP Office on August 21, demanding FIR registration and appointment of an I/O.

Video footage shows Gandhi protesting outside the station alongside Lochab. Congress alleges that the Delhi Police have continued to ignore Lochab's emails and phone calls since filing his complaint, calling the delay "denial of justice" and asserting they will continue the protest until an FIR is registered. Lochab, among the protest participants reporting pellet injuries, reportedly suffered severe eye damage with a poor prognosis for vision recovery.

The dispute regarding the use of pellet guns during the protest remains unresolved, with the police denying their deployment.
