Daman District Panchayat Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

On Saturday, the 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great patriotic enthusiasm at the Daman District Panchayat Office. District Panchayat Vice-President Reenaben Harishbhai Patel unfurled the National Flag and extended warm greetings to the people of Daman. Addressing the attendees, Reenaben Patel conveyed her best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising the country's all-round development under his leadership.

She highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in the Union Territory over the past decade, particularly in infrastructure and public facilities, thanks to Administrator Praful Patel's guidance. Reenaben Patel specifically mentioned the Namo Multi-Speciality Hospital and Namo Airport, stating these projects have greatly benefited the region by providing essential healthcare and transportation services.

The Namo Airport has even established air connectivity between Daman and Delhi, further enhancing the Union Territory's accessibility. Patel also noted that Daman is emerging as an educational hub, with the establishment of higher educational institutions including an Engineering College, Medical College, NIFT, and GNLU. At the beginning of the program, Reenaben Patel hoisted the National Flag and paid her respects to the Tricolour.

Officials and staff from the District Panchayat, BDO Mihir Joshi, CDPO and Agriculture Department personnel, school students, District Panchayat members, and citizens were present to participate in the celebration. The event concluded with a renewed resolve towards the development and progress of Daman and the nation.
