Conor Anderson cause of death update: Nashville missing persons case ends in tragedy; cops share details on Denver man

Conor Anderson, a 31-year-old man from Colorado, went missing after attending a work conference in Nashville. Police announced on Thursday night that Anderson's body was found dead in a wooded area near a parking lot on James Robertson Parkway. No signs of foul play were immediately identified, and the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Anderson had arrived in Nashville for a conference on August 15 and checked into the Millenium Maxwell House hotel. His last known sighting occurred early on the morning of August 16 when he approached two police officers in East Nashville. At around 1 a.m., Anderson flagged down the officers, reporting an encounter he had had with unknown individuals outside a nearby bar earlier that night. He claimed he had given these men $20 to "show him around the area."

According to police, Anderson expressed gratitude to the officers, explaining that he intended to show appreciation for their assistance. Body camera footage of Anderson's interaction with the officers was reviewed. One officer questioned Anderson about the possibility of a drug transaction, to which Anderson firmly denied any intention of such a transaction, stating, "On my life, there was no intention of any drug transaction."

The officers explained that they needed Anderson's driver's license to complete a formal report, but he refused to provide it. The officers encouraged him to take a rideshare back to his hotel, which Anderson agreed to do.
