CM Maryam Announces Major Relief for Suthra Punjab Workers

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has implemented new measures to ensure timely salary payments and improved cleanliness for Suthra Punjab workers. The new directives mandate that all companies under the Suthra Punjab program pay salaries by the 5th of each month, with legal action taken against those that fail to do so. So far, payments have been completed for 149 out of 151 companies, according to the chief minister.

CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that delays, financial irregularities, and negligence in cleaning operations would not be tolerated. She also directed stricter monitoring of Suthra Punjab operations, with the MD WASA required to spend at least two hours daily in the field. Additionally, TMOs and FMOs have been instructed to visit at least five union councils each day to inspect cleanliness.

The chief minister has set key performance indicators (KPIs) for Suthra Punjab MDs, FMOs, and TMOs, with poor-performing officials facing consequences, including a three-year ban from future postings. CM Maryam Nawaz also addressed absenteeism among staff and workers, ordering action against those found absent from duty. She directed authorities to ensure regular cleaning of vacant plots, waste enclosures, streets, and roads, as well as the repair of damaged walls and doors.

Mechanical sweepers must remain operational, and desilting work should continue to improve drainage. Public complaints related to cleanliness will be addressed without delay, with CM Maryam Nawaz emphasizing that officials and employees must perform their duties in the field, not just sit in their offices drawing salaries.
