Kelan and Brittany Kline are the creators of The Savvy Couple, a personal finance blog that became a 7-figure online business in just eight years. In 2016, the couple started their blog with minimal startup costs and focused on four strategies to generate revenue: display ads, affiliate marketing, sponsorships, and selling their own products.

Initially, the blog had no revenue for nine months, but they made their first $50 from a sponsored post, which convinced Kelan that their site had potential. After two weeks, Kelan left his insurance sales job to focus on the business full-time. In 2019, Brittany left her teaching job to join The Savvy Couple as well.

By 2023, the business generated $1.3 million in annual revenue, and in 2024, they brought in about $1.1 million. The Klines used display advertising, affiliate marketing, sponsorships, and selling their own products as primary methods to monetize their online business. In 2026, they would not build a traditional blog that relies on Google search traffic, but instead focus on digital products, memberships, YouTube, and a marketing agency.
