The US military said on Sunday that North Korea's ballistic missile launch does not pose an immediate threat. The US Indo-Pacific Command said in a statement that it is investigating the launch with South Korea and Japan. The statement said,"While we assess that this event does not pose an immediate threat to US personnel or territory, or that of our allies, we are committed to a diplomatic approach to denuclearization and urge Pyongyang to refrain from further provocations." The South Korean military said North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the sea off its east coast on Sunday. The launch came as the US and South Korea were conducting joint military drills. North Korea has been ramping up its weapons tests this year, and has also threatened to take stronger action against the US and its allies.
