The Mysuru City police have apprehended a 41-year-old man, Srinivasa, from Nilivadi village in Periyapatna taluk, for his involvement in stealing and selling 33 two-wheelers worth around ₹15 lakh. The arrest took place on August 14 when Srinivasa tried to sell a stolen vehicle at a discounted price. The vehicle he attempted to sell had been stolen from the K. R. Hospital parking area on May 25, 2026.

Srinivasa informed the police that he had committed theft of two-wheelers in various police stations across Mysuru City, Mysuru district, and Hassan district. Due to his confession, the police seized 33 two-wheelers valued at ₹15 lakh from him. Srinivasa had been using duplicate keys to steal the vehicles and selling them in different villages within Periyapatna taluk, claiming they had been seized for non-payment of loans.

A cheating case has been registered against him at the Periyapatna Police Station, and the trial is currently ongoing in court. Nine vehicles were stolen from Devaraja police station limits, seven from Hunsur Town police station limits, and six from Nazarbad police station limits. Other limits where vehicles were stolen include Metagalli, Vijayanagar, K. R. Nagar, Jayalakshmipuram, Ashokapuram, Krishnaraja, H. D. Kote, and Holenarsipura.

The detection was led by Devaraja police station Inspector Raghu K. R. and Police Sub-Inspector Nagaraj S., with support from a team of officers and technical staff. Mysuru City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar praised the team's efforts.
