Zelenskyy Calls Russian Strike on Kyiv One of the Most Cynical and Large-Scale Attacks of the War, as Death Toll Reaches 15

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has labeled Russia's recent missile and drone assault on Kyiv as one of the most malicious and extensive attacks in the ongoing war, with the death toll reaching 15 people and 30 residential buildings damaged, reports UATV English. Over 600 emergency responders and law enforcement officers are currently engaged in the ongoing efforts to assist those affected, across Kyiv, Brovary, and Boryspil.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to all those aiding the citizens of Ukraine. The assault caused damage to a school, a children's hospital, and a kindergarten in Kyiv and the surrounding area. Zelenskyy stated that 15 fatalities have been confirmed thus far, offering condolences to those who have lost loved ones. He emphasized the critical need for injured individuals to receive proper medical attention and called on Ukraine's allies not to remain silent regarding this and similar strikes, urging them to provide genuine support for safeguarding lives in Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyy, Russia launched a variety of missiles along with 168 drones during the attack. Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted all Russian Kalibr cruise missiles, achieving an overall interception rate of 93% for cruise missiles and intercepting a substantial number of drones as well. Zelenskyy highlighted that the most significant threat stems from ballistic missiles, stressing that this situation relies solely on the supply of Patriot missiles to Ukraine, which ultimately depends on the support from their partners.

He expressed that Ukrainian forces can operate at their peak when their bravery and expertise are complemented by adequate backing from their allies, cautioning that the world cannot simply remain silent as Russia employs ballistic missiles to annihilate lives. Zelenskyy concluded by expressing gratitude to everyone who stands beside Ukraine.
