Model Rhiya Ahir, who shot to fame after standing before a police van during Mumbai's Gen Z protest, has appealed to police to withdraw an FIR against her and take action against those allegedly threatening her online.
Rhiya Ahir, a model, gained attention during the Gen Z protest in Mumbai when she stopped a police van carrying detained young protesters in Shivaji Park. Her image, standing before the van in a grey hoodie, quickly became a striking symbol of the demonstration. Following the protest, an FIR was registered against Ahir for obstructing a police officer from discharging his duty.
However, she has now appealed to the police to withdraw the case and also seeks strict action against those who posted threatening messages on social media. A delegation of the Mumbai Youth Congress met with Joint Commissioner of Police Manoj Sharma to discuss the FIR and the online harassment faced by Ahir. The police promised to initiate the withdrawal of the FIR and investigate the individuals responsible for the threats.
