What weather Gauteng residents can expect this weekend

Gauteng residents can anticipate a predominantly dry and clear weekend, with temperatures rising towards the high twenties in both Pretoria and Johannesburg, according to the South African Weather Service (Saws). No rainfall is expected on Saturday or Sunday in the two major Gauteng cities.

Pretoria is set for a warm Saturday, with clear skies throughout the day, temperatures peaking at 28°C, and dropping to a minimum of 15°C at night. Humidity levels are forecast to stay relatively low. The morning will start with clear skies, transitioning to mostly clear conditions by afternoon, and remaining mostly clear in the evening. Temperatures will start at 18°C in the early morning, climb to 27°C by midday, and settle around 23°C in the evening.

Sunday is also expected to be mostly clear to clear, with a minimum temperature of 15°C and a maximum of 29°C. The probability of rainfall on both days is forecast at 0%.

In Johannesburg, temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler than in Pretoria. Saturday will start with mostly clear skies and temperatures ranging from 14°C in the early morning to a maximum of 26°C in the afternoon, easing to 21°C by evening. No rainfall is forecast for Saturday. Sunday will also remain mostly clear, with temperatures expected to range between 14°C and 26°C, again with no forecasted rainfall.

Gusts of wind are expected to remain generally light to moderate across both cities, with Johannesburg anticipated to have its strongest winds on Saturday afternoon at around 18.52km/h. Despite the cooler morning temperatures, residents can expect settled weather across the weekend with clear skies.
