Wednesday's prep highlights: Rockets roll; Maroons post strong showing in Bloomington

On August 20, the Unity boys golf team recorded a nine-hole score of 38, guided by Charlie Watson, to triumph over Arcola with a score of 162 and Paris with a score of 195 at the Kaskaskia Golf Course. Kaden Hohlbauch led Arcola in the medal standings with a 37. Meanwhile, Jillian Marner from Arcola secured medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 45, contributing to the team's victory over Unity in a dual match at Kaskaskia Golf Course.

Olivia Gisinger and Megan Miller were the top scorers for Unity, posting 46 and 48 respectively and leading the team to a 57-hole total. In Bloomington, Champaign Central boys golf team managed a collective score of 294, securing fourth place in the Mia Memorial Classic at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course. Normal U-High, Mundelein, and Washington topped the leaderboard with scores of 286, 292, and 292 respectively.

Jeremy McCoy and John Timmons led the Maroons, each recording 73 in 18 holes. In Danville, St. Joseph-Ogden boys golf team edged out Oakwood with a score of 189-224 in a nine-hole dual match at Harrison Park Golf Course. Garrett Loschen led the winning team with a 41. In Moweaqua, Tuscola boys golf team posted a collective score of 165, defeating Meridian, Villa Grove, and Central A&M/Okaw Valley at Moweaqua Golf Course with Evan Englehardt, Lawson Kurtz, Nixon Steinert, and Lane McCall contributing to the win.

Meridian's Wyatt Martin earned medalist honors with a score of 36. Finally, in Moweaqua, Central A&M girls golf team triumphed over Villa Grove with a score of 207-213 in a nine-hole dual match. Riayn Cisna of Villa Grove earned medalist honors with a 44, and Macy Mendoza and Ainsley Arthur each posted 54.
