WATCH: ‘Will You Wait Until People Die?’ NCP Protests Rising Dog Attacks, Threatens To Bring Rabid Dogs Inside PCMC Office

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) staged a protest outside the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) administrative building to voice concerns over the growing number of stray dog attacks. An individual dressed as a dog was seen at the meeting, barking at the administration. Protesters brought pet dogs into the civic premises and urged immediate action to control the stray dog population.

They demanded action against officials for failing to address the issue, warning, "Will you wait until people die?" The NCP cited a sharp increase in dog bite cases, with 38,004 incidents reported in 2025-26, up from just 10,165 in 2015-16. The opposition leader in PCMC, Bhausaheb Bhoir, attributed the problem to a lack of manpower in the veterinary department, stating that people could no longer safely go for morning walks due to the threat of dog attacks.

He called for the administration to prioritize public safety and take the issue seriously, threatening to bring stray dogs inside the PCMC office if no changes were made.
