KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 — Viu's original series Cinta Dalam Sekam has amassed 101.5 million views on social media since its July 16 release, as the platform transitions to its darker psychological thriller Cela. The milestone was unveiled at the launch of Cela, Viu Malaysia's ninth original series. Cinta Dalam Sekam, the platform's eighth Malaysian original, is a blend of romance, jealousy, and buried secrets set against an '80s-inspired backdrop.

The 12-episode drama, starring Amir Ahnaf, Siti Khadijah Halim, Haidar Hasanudin, Riz Amin and Husna Mustaffa, follows Uwan, an elderly man with dementia whose memories of the present are fading while his mind remains rooted in 1988. As his family seeks to uncover the truth behind his memories, they discover a decades-old love triangle marked by jealousy and a concealed secret that altered their lives.

Currently on episode 10, a watch party for episode 11 is scheduled at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre today. Viu is now venturing into a more somber direction with Cela, a psychological thriller and dark romance centered on obsession, secrets, and redemption. Starring Nabila Huda and Hun Haqeem in their first on-screen collaboration, as well as Zarif Ghazzi, Datuk Seri Eizlan Yusof, Lisdawati, and others, Cela is directed by filmmaker Feroz Kader and produced by Global Film Station Sdn Bhd.

The 12-episode series centers on high school student Kaer (Hun) whose family is devastated by his father's death. He and his grieving mother are then taken in by the wealthy Datuk Arshad (Eizlan) and his alluring wife, Datuk Anees (Nabila). Kaer forms an intense emotional connection with Anees following the tragedy, but their relationship takes a darker turn when he discovers a painful truth: Anees is directly linked to the incident that ruined his family.

Caught between secrets and revenge, Kaer must confront betrayal and the repercussions of his actions. Following the conclusion of Cinta Dalam Sekam, Cela has taken over Viu Malaysia's Thursday and Friday release slots, beginning its exclusive stream on the platform today, with new episodes airing every Thursday and Friday.
