URCS strengthens role in Ukraine's civil protection, expands cooperation with EU

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is enhancing its involvement in Ukraine's civil protection infrastructure and broadening its collaboration with EU response mechanisms. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved Resolution No. 1025, which outlines the process for delivering and receiving aid under the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism.

This resolution formally integrates URCS into the nation's civil protection framework, enabling the society to address community requirements and solicit external assistance. The resolution outlines a complete procedure, ranging from collecting and prioritizing community requests to receiving, handling, and monitoring international humanitarian aid.

This system ensures that aid is appropriately aligned with the true needs of communities, the state's capabilities, and the resources accessible from international sources, facilitating the delivery of aid to regions in the greatest demand. URCS forms part of Ukraine's consolidated national civil protection system and collaborates with the State Emergency Service, government bodies, communities, and international partners on emergency preparedness and response.

The adoption of Resolution No. 1025 solidifies this partnership, bolstering Ukraine's capacity to obtain international support tailored to community priorities.
