Trump signs memo to help drastically boost US space launches

On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memo aimed at dramatically increasing the number of U.S. space launches, setting a target of at least 1,000 launches and re-entries annually by 2030. This is a significant leap from the 178 launches that occurred in the previous year, a number that is ten times higher than in 2013.

The memo directs government agencies to take several actions to achieve this goal. It calls for incentivizing the co-development of space transportation infrastructure with private sector partners, expediting permitting and environmental reviews, and ensuring adequate wireless spectrum for space launches.
