Truck crushes man to death on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A young adult was fatally struck and killed by a truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the OPIC corridor in Ogun State. The incident happened around 1 pm on a Wednesday when the victim, whose identity remains unknown, attempted to cross the highway from the Lagos-bound carriageway to the roadside. Eyewitness Nojeem reported that the man was crossing the highway when the speeding truck hit him and fled the scene.

The crash resulted in the victim's body being scattered across the expressway, forcing other motorists to slow down and maneuver around the scene. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance Agency (TRACE) officials and Amotekun Corps members were dispatched to manage traffic following the incident. The victim's remains were finally cleared from the road by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, allowing normal traffic flow to resume along the expressway.
