Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has hinted at bringing experienced foreign-based players to bolster the club's squad in preparation for the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season. The South African coach, who took over following a disappointing previous season, explained that his team conducted extensive scouting in recent weeks to identify suitable talent.
Tinkler revealed that the club reviewed footage of players from both Ghana and abroad, aiming to fortify the squad and establish a strong foundation for the upcoming campaign. He emphasized the significance of having new faces with valuable experience, adding that the team is expected to compete strongly. Tinkler also suggested that supporters might witness some unexpected signings before the transfer window closes.
The coach further noted that Kotoko would face rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2026 Democracy Cup before starting their league campaign away to newly promoted Debibi United.
