Outdoor photographer Courtney Victoria has amassed more than 82,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel. She offers advice to aspiring filmmakers, suggesting they relax and talk to the camera like they would a friend. Talking about her journey, Courtney admits she didn't initially aim for a large YouTube following. She emphasized the importance of knowing why one starts a channel and building a small group of invested viewers.

She also addressed the challenge of dealing with criticism from viewers who aren't familiar with her work. Courtney started her YouTube videos while in South Korea, teaching English as a second language. She found that combining her experiences and photography into videos helped her ground herself. Although photography was new to her, her background in scenography and fine art helped her adapt.

She advises remaining flexible, as outdoor conditions can change unexpectedly. While living in South Korea, Courtney developed a passion for landscape photography. Upon returning to England, she found the local landscape too familiar and began focusing on more intimate natural scenes. Her recent interest in photographing woodland fungi stems from a realization that she had overlooked countless specimens in the past.
