‘The DA had two chances and failed twice’: Al Jama-ah slams former Wits vice-chancellor for endorsing Zille

Al Jama-ah leader Ganief Hendricks has criticized former Wits University vice-chancellor Adam Habib for endorsing DA mayoral candidate Helen Zille to fix Johannesburg. Habib claimed Zille has the experience and capacity to save the metro from further decline, stating that everyone else is simply responding to her. However, Hendricks argued that Habib "does not know what he is talking about" and accused the DA of failing twice in leading the municipality.

He emphasized that Johannesburg cannot afford a third experiment and needs better delivery, stability, jobs, and dignity. Hendricks, who has led Johannesburg twice in the past, believes his party can do a better job than Zille. The latest Social Research Foundation (SRF) poll shows the DA leading with 42% support, followed by the ANC with 18%, the new uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party with 13%, ActionSA with 10%, and the EFF with 8%.
