Supreme Court to rule Friday on challenge to Chief Justice’s legal vacation directives

Oppong Nkrumah's legal counsel, Frank Davies, contends that allowing the Attorney General to represent the Chief Justice raises concerns about the separation of powers. The core issue at hand is whether continuing criminal trials during the legal vacation infringes upon the accused's constitutional right to fair representation by their chosen lawyers.

Oppong Nkrumah's team emphasizes that the defendants are not objecting to the trials' occurrence but are concerned with the manner in which they are being conducted during the legal vacation. A decision on the challenge is anticipated on Friday, August 21.
