Students urged to dream big at The Hindu FIC, SRM University-A.P. seminar

Students urged to dream big at The Hindu FIC, SRM University-A.P. seminar

Professor Satya Duvvuri, from the Paari School of Business at SRM University-A.P., urged Andhra Loyola College students to take charge of their careers, envision grand dreams, and consistently improve their skills to remain future-ready. He addressed the "Career Opportunities in Management and Technology-Future Ready: Opportunities Beyond Graduation" seminar, organized by The Hindu Future India Club in collaboration with SRM University-A.P.

Mr. Duvvuri emphasized that students should not allow career uncertainty, unemployment, AI advancements, communication hurdles, or personal backgrounds to hinder their aspirations. He highlighted the inspiring journey of ALC alumnus D. Seshagiri Rao, who progressed from a B.Sc. student in 1961-64 to a Director of Education in Andhra Pradesh after obtaining M.A. and M.Ed. degrees.

Mr. Duvvuri encouraged students to trust in their potential, persist amidst obstacles, and aim for dreams that drive them to achieve their goals, quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Communication skills, a positive attitude, and familiarity with emerging technologies were pinpointed as crucial for career advancement, along with prospects in higher education, entrepreneurship, and emerging domains like Agentic AI, sales, and negotiation.

The professor advised students to make the most of their three years at ALC and the following 90 days for self-development and career preparation. He urged students to pursue careers in line with their interests, never cease learning, explore fresh opportunities, and refrain from making wealth the primary objective of their professional lives.

V. V. S. Pradeep, Assistant Director at SRM University-A.P., shared two stories to inspire innovative thinking, drawing from the Bata shoe company example to demonstrate how a salesperson's perception of demand as a problem and another's perspective as an unexploited market could lead to growth. Mr. Pradeep also discussed the RedBus app creation, illustrating how a challenge in reserving a bus ticket was turned into an opportunity for developing a widely used solution.

He encouraged students to look beyond traditional methods, recognize opportunities in commonplace issues, and continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills to stay future-ready. ALC Principal Fr. Melchior and Department of BBA Head P. Durga Pavani attended the seminar.
