Sepang police probe repeated nail‑scattering incidents at Cybersouth flyover that endangers motorists

SEPANG, Aug 20 — Police in Malaysia are investigating the repeated scattering of nails along the Cybersouth flyover's left off-ramp, which poses a significant danger to motorists. Sepang police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman reported receiving a complaint on July 15, with another email received yesterday detailing more nails scattered.

Police are actively monitoring the area but have yet to identify the perpetrator. Norhizam expressed hope that anyone with information could notify the authorities to take action. The case is being investigated under Section 268 of the Penal Code, which pertains to actions endangering others' lives or safety, as the location is a bend prone to accidents.

Social media users have shared images and videos of the incident, noting nails approximately two inches long scattered since June. Additionally, Sepang police are intensifying surveillance of early-morning motorcycle racing in the Salak Perdana area, disturbing residents. Police are considering investigating the activity under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless or dangerous driving endangering others.

The investigation is being led by the head of the Sepang IPD Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division.
