Rubén Blades will perform in Lima tonight, on the final stop of his Fotografías tour. The event will take place at Arena 1 Park in San Miguel, with doors opening at 5 pm. The Roberto Delgado Big Band, Blades' long-time orchestra, will accompany him on stage at 9:30 pm. Known for his innovative approach to salsa, Blades' performances are larger and more loose than his studio recordings.
The tour's promoters are selling it as a farewell, with Peruvian outlets labeling tonight's show as a farewell concert. Blades, a renowned salsa artist with a background in law and politics, has been performing for over half a century and is considered a benchmark by other Peruvian salsa artists. This Lima show is not part of a new tour but rather the final date on the current run, with no plans for a return.
