Prince Owusu, rookie Noah Streit lead Montreal to 2-1 victory over Columbus

Prince Owusu and rookie Noah Streit propelled Montreal to a 2-1 win over Columbus on Wednesday night.

In the 5th minute, Owusu capitalized on a pass from Hennadii Synchuk to score his 12th goal of the season, marking his 34th goal in 90 career matches. This included Synchuk's first assist in 28 career appearances.

Columbus equalized in the 20th minute when an own goal by Montreal's keeper Thomas Gillier canceled out Owusu's early lead.

Streit, in his 16th appearance, sealed the win with an unassisted goal in the 78th minute. Patrick Schulte made five saves for Columbus, who have struggled, totaling 3-6-2 in their last 11 matches.

Montreal, after two back-to-back draws at home, won in Columbus for only the fourth time in 18 tries. Their next match is against Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday.
