POCSO case against Kathakali teacher in Keralam

A Kathakali teacher in Kerala has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a complaint of sexual abuse against him. The incident is alleged to have taken place in 2019 when a student, who was attending Kathakali classes at the center, was allegedly sexually abused by the teacher. After the abuse, the student developed mental health issues and sought treatment.

She recently disclosed the alleged abuse during a counselling session at a private hospital in Kochi. The hospital authorities subsequently alerted the police, leading to an investigation and the registration of a case. The police reported that the accused was currently on the run. An inquiry has been initiated by a police team to further the investigation.
