Palo Alto Networks and NTT DATA Group Corp. have announced a multiyear global alliance aimed at achieving $1 billion in joint business by the end of 2029. This marks the first such alliance between Palo Alto Networks and a global systems integrator. The deal will bring Palo Alto Networks' security platforms in front of NTT DATA's consulting, engineering, and managed services customers, leveraging investment from both companies.
The partnership began with a joint managed cybersecurity service in 2024. In April, Palo Alto Networks convened the Frontier AI Alliance, with NTT DATA among five founding members. The new agreement establishes a dedicated go-to-market model, shared engineering roadmap, and early access to platform features for NTT DATA. Palo Alto Networks will assign forward-deployed engineers to support the collaboration.
The alliance focuses on six key areas at launch: autonomous security operations center, identity security (using Palo Alto Networks' Idera platform), AI governance, multicloud posture management, firewall modernization, and a combined zero-trust and secure edge architecture. These solutions will initially target financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and the public sector.
Nikesh Arora, Palo Alto Networks' chairman and CEO, stated that expanding the alliance will "operationalize platformization at true global scale, helping enterprises eliminate legacy complexity and move fast without sacrificing safety." NTT DATA CEO and AI chief Abhijit Dubey emphasized that AI is reshaping the threat landscape at an unprecedented speed, and customers need AI-driven security, industry knowledge, and global reach to remain resilient.
The alliance is not exclusive, and NTT DATA continues to resell rival platforms, including CrowdStrike's Falcon. The $1 billion target covers contracts and orders across both companies' books over three years, combining product, subscription, and services revenue.
