Pakistani Parents Can Now Set YouTube Shorts Limit to Zero for Kids

Google has launched a new feature enabling Pakistani parents to manage the amount of time their children spend watching YouTube Shorts, including the possibility of setting the limit to zero. This initiative is part of Google's Digital Pasban initiative aimed at enhancing online safety for families in Pakistan. Parents can leverage YouTube's age-appropriate content settings, along with tools like Take a Break and Bedtime reminders, to regulate children's digital habits.

The introduction of a Shorts control gives parents additional flexibility in limiting or entirely halting short-form video consumption when children require concentration on academic pursuits or other responsibilities. Google is also advocating for Family Link, a tool that enables parents to oversee screen time, approve applications, filter content, and utilize device location features.

By incorporating these tools, Google aims to bolster digital safety and literacy among Pakistani households.
