Last Friday, Winnipeg Blue Bombers kicker Sergio Castillo became a CFL history-maker after hitting a 56-yard field goal during a game against Ottawa. Castillo claimed this was the first time he had ever scored a 50-plus yard kick, setting a new league record. However, it seems that some information was incorrect. The league discovered that Castillo actually scored a 49-yard kick during the game against Calgary on July 24, not 50 yards.

Despite this mistake, Castillo remains tied with former Bombers player Troy Westwood, who also has 40 50-plus yarders on just 61 attempts. Castillo remains unfazed by the error, stating "Ah, no big deal," and expressing excitement about potentially setting a new record in Friday's game against the first-place Calgary Elks.
