Ohio State Quarterback Julian sayin makes another preseason watch list

Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is set to have another stellar year, building upon his impressive freshman season where he was named a Heisman finalist. His remarkable performance last year has earned him a spot on numerous preseason watch lists, accolades, and awards, including the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which announced its preseason watch list on Wednesday. Sayin, entering his redshirt sophomore year, was among the honored names.

Sayin, who has been with Ohio State for three seasons overall, led the nation in completion percentage at 77.0 percent, ranked second in efficiency with a 177.5, and threw for 3,610 yards and 32 touchdowns in 2025. His eight interceptions were the fewest in the nation. The California native's completion percentage sets a new Ohio State record, while his 3,610 passing yards rank fifth all-time in the program. His 301 completions in 2025 tie for fourth in single-season history.

Despite the presence of several outstanding quarterbacks at Ohio State recently, the team has never claimed the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. If Sayin wins the award, which will be revealed on December 11 during ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show, it would mark a significant achievement for the program.
