Mitgliederbefragung: Umfrage: VC-Piloten weiterhin streikbereit

Despite a tough collective bargaining dispute at Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cockpit Union (VC) pilots remain defiant. A member survey revealed that 70 percent of respondents would immediately join a strike call by the union during labor negotiations, the VC announced. "The high strike readiness demonstrates the strong unity of our members and the broad support for the chosen tariff policy course," explained VC board member Oliver Löwe.

Tariff policy remains the primary issue. Comprehensive mediation talks have been agreed upon between the two sides. The VC has already called a series of strikes for Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Cityline, and Eurowings pilots throughout the year. Recent negotiations have resulted in a cross-company mediation to resolve conflicts permanently.

Nearly half (47 percent) of respondents view their own professional situation as worsening, while only 24 percent would recommend the profession of pilot today, and two-thirds (66 percent) advise against it. Still, two-thirds of employees generally expressed satisfaction with their current professional situation.
