Michigan regulators seize suspected illegal gaming machines from Muskegon bar search

Michigan regulators have seized three suspected illegal gaming machines from DJ’s Pub, a bar in Muskegon, during a search tied to an investigation of possible unlicensed gaming. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) conducted the search under a warrant, collaborating with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office and Muskegon Police Department.

The investigation began after the gaming board received a tip in January regarding DJ’s Pub allegedly operating gaming machines without the required license. During the search, regulators removed three machines suspected to be used for illegal slot-style games and seized $1,200 worth of gift cards believed to be used to pay customers' gambling winnings.

An additional $3,874, thought to be gambling proceeds, was taken during the search. The case remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made as of now. The tip received in January alleged that DJ’s Pub had gaming machines operating without the necessary license, and customers who won were receiving payment in cash or gift cards.

The MGCB has been following up on these allegations for several months, observing the machines being used during their visits to the bar.
