MaWhoo and Lwah Ndlunkulu announce joint Maskandi album

South African singers MaWhoo and Lwah Ndlunkulu have collaborated on a Maskandi album, set to release on 28 August 2026 at a launch event in Kempton Park. The album will feature other Maskandi artists like Feza, Izingane Zoma, Mthandeni, and Siya Ntuli. The musicians aim to celebrate Zulu music and unite generations of Maskandi musicians, with MaWhoo describing it as more than a musical collaboration but a movement.

Lwah and MaWhoo share a deep love for their heritage and building a bridge between the past and future of Maskandi. They also announced their new single, Distance, featuring Feza, released on 19 August. Lwah emphasized that the project celebrates music and unity, stating she felt the power of unity standing with MaWhoo and other talented artists.

The launch included an exclusive screening of a documentary showcasing the duo's creative process and the collaboration's development. MaWhoo and Lwah Ndlunkulu also confirmed plans for a nationwide tour later this year, with official dates expected soon.
