Malaysian Airlines confirms MH89 Tokyo-KL flight cancelled due to technical issue

Malaysia Airlines has announced that flight MH89 from Tokyo Narita International Airport to Kuala Lumpur has been cancelled due to a technical issue involving one of the aircraft's engines. The Airbus A330-300, carrying 160 passengers and crew, aborted its take-off at around 10:40am local time, prompting the aircraft to halt and undergo a thorough inspection.

All 160 passengers and crew are reported to be safe, and the airline has apologized for the disruption, assuring that they are making arrangements for alternative travel, including meals, lounge access, and hotel accommodations where necessary. Affected passengers will be transferred to the next available flights to Kuala Lumpur. No injuries have been reported following the incident.
