A male suspect was detained after being caught on video kicking a sick kitten with a metal brush in the home area of Bandar Tasik Idaman, Batu Gajah. In the 2 minute 19 second video, the suspect is seen kicking the kitten several times with an aluminum brush inside the house. Batu Gajah Police Chief Md Noor Aehawan Mohammad said the male suspect surrendered at IPD Batu Gajah after receiving information about the incident around midday yesterday.

He claimed the male suspect accused the kitten of entering his car bonnet, which was parked in the house area. The suspect acted because he feared the kitten could cause harm to himself and damage his vehicle if the engine was started or the car was in motion, according to Harian Metro. He said the kitten was still alive after being kicked by the suspect and was taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment.

Police will obtain a veterinary report to complete the investigation under Section 428 of the Penal Code and Section 29(1)(a) of the Animal Welfare Act 2015, which deals with cruelty to animals. Earlier, many criticized the suspect's actions of kicking the sick kitten on social media, with some suggesting action should be taken against his employer who was wearing work clothes.
