Leeds United eyeing deal for Chelsea striker Liam Delap

Leeds United are reportedly pursuing a deal for Chelsea striker Liam Delap, according to sports journalist Ben Jacobs. The Yorkshire club has previously loaned out defender Joel Piroe to West Ham United, and manager Daniel Farke is seeking a replacement for the player. Delap is likely to depart Chelsea, with the club demanding a fee of approximately £50 million from potential suitors.

Nottingham Forest and Everton are also vying for the Leeds target, but sources suggest around £40 million could be sufficient to finalize a transfer. Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to be the Whites' preferred choice at the forward position, while Lukas Nmecha, Mateo Joseph, and Noah Okafor can fill in when needed. Leeds remains open to adding an additional player in this role, with Delap as a viable option despite his minimal output during the 2023-24 season.

Last season, Delap scored just one goal in 28 Premier League appearances, but he managed 12 goals in 37 league games during the 2024-25 campaign. As a result, he may be motivated to seek a new challenge at a different club after being deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
