Kpone-Katamanso MCE presents items to clans ahead of Homowo Festival

Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Chief Executive Samuel Tetteh Kwashie Morton has distributed supplies to the ten clans of Kpone to aid preparations for the 2026 Homowo Festival. The donations comprised corn, palm oil, bottled water, various beverages, and other necessities. Mr Morton, presenting the goods on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, requested the traditional leaders to ensure the festival was observed peacefully and with reverence.

He encouraged clan leaders to preserve the Homowo Festival's essence and values, ensuring tranquility before, during, and after the festivities. The MCE highlighted that events like Homowo present opportunities for kinship and friendship, urging residents and visitors to act responsibly during the celebrations and collaborate with traditional authorities and state agencies for a harmonious festival.

Receiving the items, Nii Ofosu Oblie V, the Mankralo of the Kpone Traditional Council, expressed gratitude to the assembly for the gesture. He assured that the supplies would arrive in time, significantly contributing to the festival preparations. Oblie pledged that all ten clans would receive their equitable share to bolster their Homowo celebrations.

The Ga-Dangme people observe the Homowo Festival annually to commemorate their triumph over hunger, fostering unity, thanksgiving, and cultural heritage.
