Iowa signs athletic director Beth Goetz to contract extension through early 2032

Iowa City, Iowa (AP) — Athletic director Beth Goetz of the Iowa Hawkeyes has committed to a contract extension, promising her continued presence at the institution until early 2032. This extension follows the Hawkeyes' successful 2025-26 athletic season, marked by significant achievements.

During the academic year, the Iowa athletes garnered four individual national championships, three Big Ten titles, and produced 29 All-Americans across various sports. Notably, the men's basketball team advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in 39 years, while the Hawkeyes were among only two institutions to win a bowl game and remain ranked in the top 25 of the AP polls in football, men's basketball, and women's basketball.

The season also saw the school generate over $100 million in athletic fundraising. Goetz, who assumed her role as athletic director in January 2024, expressed optimism about the future, stating, "We are proud of the tradition we carry forward, excited about where we are headed, and I truly believe our best days are ahead."

The contract extension ensures Goetz will remain in the position until January 31, 2032.
