Interior minister: death toll from massive Kyiv shelling rises to 13

The death toll from the massive shelling in Kyiv has risen to 13, with a total of 14 confirmed dead and over 40 injured across Kyiv and the region due to the Russian attack, according to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhivsky. The number of fatalities from the shelling has increased to 13, with Vyhivsky reporting that another woman's body was discovered in the Solomyanskyi district of the capital.

Over 600 rescuers and police officers have been involved in addressing the aftermath of the shelling since last night. Currently, efforts are focused on two sites in the capital and three in the Boryspil and Brovary districts. In the early moments following the strikes, the State Emergency Service and National Police managed to rescue and provide initial aid to dozens of individuals.

Police have established headquarters at the attack sites to receive reports about damaged and destroyed property. Kyiv alone has received over 200 applications regarding affected and destroyed property. Vyhivsky noted that 20 residential buildings, a school, a children's hospital, and a kindergarten, all of which were civilian targets, have been significantly damaged in the capital.

All necessary units, including robotic equipment, have been deployed to clear the rubble and attempt to locate any survivors beneath the debris. In the Kyiv region, a warehouse containing household goods caught fire, and rescuers are working to control the blaze, with aviation support provided. Additionally, the Odesa and Chernihiv regions were also shelled on Thursday night, though no casualties were reported.
