Manchester City is intensifying their pursuit of AS Roma's Manu Kone after confirming Tijjani Reijnders's exit from the club, according to reports. Reijnders joined Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League after just one season at the Etihad. The Italian side, struggling to replace key players such as Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, and John Stones, have identified Kone as a potential starting point.

Former Chelsea and Leicester City boss Pep Guardiola faces a challenging task in maintaining the high standards set during his nine-year tenure. City's recent acquisition of Elliot Anderson for £116 million has left much to be desired, highlighting the need for further reinforcements. Kone has been linked with a move away from Roma since the transfer window opened, with Manchester United also showing interest, though they have not yet submitted a formal offer.

The Red Devils may not need to pursue Kone unless their interest in Brighton and Hove Albion's Carlos Baleba falters.
